Tibetan full moon singing bowls and breath work

Sound therapy with Full Moon Singing Bowls has long been a traditional form of regeneration. They are a mysterious acoustic phenomenon, first used centuries ago in the Far East and discovered by “spiritual tourists” in the Himalayas of Tibet.

The sound waves of Full Moon Singing Bowls harmonise and allow deep relaxation of both sides of the brain.

This itself stimulates stress relief on all levels and the process of wellbeing has begun, the emotions are calm and the mind clear. The sound vibrations continue to influence the body after the singing bowls have stopped playing. Some people experience shifts within the body as a result.

How does sound affect our body?

Sound waves are one of the most powerful forms of vibration. Each level of frequency has its own beneficial communication with the body and mind, which often allows the recipient to relax and even fall asleep. They range from 396Hz to 963Hz with each frequency tapping into a different state of consciousness. Sound is made up of recognisable waves that are connected to different states of consciousness. It is known that the brain in its normal state, i.e., in everyday consciousness, produces beta waves. These waves are similar and compatible to alpha waves that are present in the states of meditation and calm consciousness. Theta waves are typical for the state of slumber, whereas delta waves are present only during deep sleep.

When the waves produced by singing bowls were recorded, scientists discovered wave patterns which were the same as the alpha waves produced by our brain. These waves give a feeling of deep relaxation.

Tibetan Singing Bowls and their unique tones are used to rebalance the functioning of the adrenal gland, to open and stabilise the meridians and to improve the synaptic responses in our brain as well as stimulate the immune system. Along with meditation, singing bowls are used for deep relaxation and muscle regeneration. Sound therapy offers relief from headaches and migraine, anxiety, depression and insomnia and it eases tension. It allows the digestive system to rebalance, improves concentration and promotes improvement in circulation, as well as releasing tensions or blockages so energy can flow.

Combining sound healing and breathwork

We all know how to breathe, but slowing down your breathing and deepening the breath has positive effects on the body, such as alkalising your blood PH. It can help with PTSD, and the release of toxins and stress hormones. Breathwork can have a positive impact on your nervous and immune system, it allows muscles to relax and promotes an uplifting mood.
